Facts about Värmland

It is often said that Värmland sits on water. There are about 10,500 lakes In Värmland, one of them is Vänern the largest lake in Sweden and Europe's third largest lake. Other large lakes are Fryken, Glafsfjorden and Värmeln. The Klarälven River stretches about 300 km from north to south and empties into Lake Vänern.

► Rottneros park a fantastic flower and sculpture park. The sculpture park is one of Sweden's and Europe's largest. Here you can also visit Nils Holgersson's adventure park for children.


Karlsborg Fortress

Sweden is full of great places for fishing and in this category here we have gathered the best fishing cabins. Let go of the fisherman within you while you live comfortably in one of our cabins. The perfect fishing cabin

There are many varieties of fishing cabins in Sweden. Some are located right next to a lake with perfect fishing conditions while others have good fishing opportunities in the surroundings. There are no specification on how close or far a cabin is to water, but as a rule the cabin is fairly close to a lake or the ocean. If you want to specify a desired distance to the water, you can choose that in our advanced search. You can search among our cabins until you find a cabin that suits your needs. You can search for cabins that, for example, have a rowing boat, sauna or something else you want for your vacation stay. You can also choose the category “Oceanside cabins” if you want to stay near the ocean or if you want to find a cabin near a lake.

Fishing in the Swedish ocean

Recreational fishing in the ocean is allowed in most places either by boat or from land. There may be local regulations that must be followed, ask the owner of the cabin or the local tourist office what applies. There are also rules that must be followed for the use of special gear, such as fishing with nets or lobster fishing.


Fishing in Swedish lakes

Many of the lakes in Sweden have good fishing, it is popular to fish from both land and from a boat, and with many cabins it is possible to rent a boat either from the cabin owner or somewhere nearby. With some cabins, the boat is already included in the rent. It is not allowed to fish in all our Swedish lakes, there are lakes where they plant game fish and where a fishing license is required. Fishing licenses can usually be purchased at a nearby store, a kiosk or similar.
