The location of Bohuslän
Bohuslän is Sweden’s westernmost province and is located south west of the province of Dalsland, and Northwest of the province of Västergötland and borders Skagerrak on the west coast. Marstrand in Bohus
Marstrand Island is Bohusläns most luxurious area and a sailboat metropolis in Sweden. Marstrand gained its high status and popularity as early as in the 19th century thanks to king Oscars regular visits. The town of Marstrand is a fabulous town with wooden houses, and with the castle- Carlstens fortress- which gives the island its stamp.
Marstrand is located on the two islands Marstrand Island and Cow Island, Cow Island is located closer to the mainland while Marstrand Island is located furthest out towards the ocean in Bohusläns archipelago. If you want to take a daytrip to Marstrand Island from the cabin you’re renting from us, there is a road connection to Cow Island then from Cow Island there’s a passenger ferry to Marstrand Island.
Smögen in Bohus
The island of Smögen is also called the pearl of the west coast. A big tourist attraction is Smögens incredibly beautiful fishing harbors which is lined with boathouses, cottages, restaurants and picturesque shops. Take a daytrip from your rented cabin and visit the charming “Smögen dock” that runs along the southern part of the old fishing harbor.
