Sweden’s west coast refers to the coastline of the provinces of Bohuslän, Västergötland and Halland and North West of Skåne. The inland of southern Sweden is often very flat but has a big variety of nature and forest. In southern Sweden you will find the two biggest lakes of Sweden, Vänern and Vättern.
If you rent a cabin by the lake of Vänern you will be staying next to the biggest lake of Sweden, the lake have an area of 5648 km2 and a 2000 km long shoreline in mixed terrain with everything from sandy beaches to cliffs. The lake has about 22000 islands in various sizes that you can visit if you have access to a boat during your vacation. Fishing is very good in Vänern and with 38 different fish species it’s a hotspot for both professionals and recreational fishing.
The second biggest lake of Sweden, Vättern, is also a big lake with an area of 1893 km2. You will have great opportunities of both swimming and fishing, the lake is lined with many nice fishing spots and has as many as 31 different species of fish.
