Autumn markets near your vacation cabin in Sweden.

Autumn markets are great excursion destinations and are actually even more common than summer markets, they are often a natural break point between summer and fall for many Swedes and can be a fun excursion from your cabin. In the past, these fall markets were very important for traders and farmers preparing for winter, and not least they were one long and big harvest festival. Today's markets also have a very large social function to fulfill. A fall market is a big homecoming day for those who have moved to other cities.

Åre fall market

Åre's fall market is always a big event in Jämtland province and usually attracts thousands of visitors, if you rent a cabin nearby, we recommend visiting it. The market is held in central Åre, and around the square gather artists, food producers, and artisans, etc. In addition, there are organized fashion shows, entertainment and even helicopter tours around the area. Åre Autumn Market is usually organized around September 27 to September 29 and is probably the biggest market of them all. Some years ago they had the 10th anniversary of the Åre market, so a little extra fun festivities were organized then. Several of these will also return this year.
