Description of the cabin

This cabin is located calmly and comfortably on a peninsula in Lake Vänern.

The cabin consists of a winter-insulated heated large cabin (60 m2) with 6 beds divided into three bedrooms, living room, kitchen, shower and WC. There is a washing machine and a wood burning stove.

A small cabin (hostel of 10 m2) with 2 beds and a large lodge (50 m2) as a recreation room with a fireplace and dining table is included in the price.

In front of the cabin you have a large garden with garden furniture and a barbeque grill.

About fishing

Lake Vänern is best known for its fine salmon fishing, but offers good fishing for several different fish species, including the famous Gullspångs trout. A lot of large burbots are also caught every year. But also pike and perch fishing is very popular and good.

The main building is simple but fully equipped and suitable for 6 adults. Some beds may be a little cramped for larger people. If you are looking for peace and relaxation, this is the right place on the secluded peninsula on a quiet headland in Lake Vänern. The barbeque area with new seating invites you to end the evening overlooking the sunset over the lake. The rowing boat can be used for fishing on the lake. Our teenage boys did not want to live in the guest house, so there was a mattress on the floor in the big house. As a small limitation, it can be said that we did not take over the house completely clean, but the owner was also very relaxed with our final cleaning and the other amenities that the idyllic location more than compensated for. What we liked best was the friendly landlord, who speaks fluent German and responded very positively to further inquiries, so that we could use much more than what was included in the package. He was happy when you split some of the firewood, which we German vacationers like to do. 😉 The nice neighbors further up the road complete the experience. In Grums (approx. 10 km) you will find two large supermarkets (ICA & COOP) and a very well-stocked shop for fishing, hunting and leisure accessories.
