Travel to Sweden by Ferry

By car via Denmark, by ferry and the Öresund Bridge

You can reach your rented cabin in Sweden by ferry and car through Europe. The two routes mentioned below are particularly suitable if you want to vacation in southeast Sweden, Österlen, Blekinge, Öland, or the cities of Malmö or Ystad.

A: You will first drive to the ferry harbor of Puttgarden on the island of Fehmarn in Germany and then take the Scandlines ferry to the town of Rødby in Denmark in just 45 minutes, then continue via Denmark and the Öresund Bridge to Sweden. The ferry leaves every 30 minutes during the high season, so you don't have to worry about a time schedule for the ferry, just roll up and line up. If you click on the link from Scandlines you can see the cost of the tickets traveling by the ferry. You can also buy a combined ticket for the ferry and the Öresund Bridge from Scandlines, this then includes the cost of both the ferry and the Öresund Bridge. The journey through Denmark takes about 1 hour and 30 minutes, for those who want to get to their rented cabin in Sweden quickly.

B: First you drive to Rostock in Germany and then you take the ferry Scandlines to the town of Gedser in Denmark, then you drive through Denmark and take the Öresund Bridge to Sweden. The ferry runs up to 10 times a day in the high season, and should be booked in advance. If you click on the link from Scandlines you can see the ferry prices. You also have the option of buying a combination ticket from Scandlines. This then includes both the ferry and the Öresund Bridge. The journey through Denmark takes about 1 hour and 30 minutes, for those who want to get to their rented cabin in Sweden quickly.

Cabin rentals in Sweden - How to get here

By car and two ferries via Denmark to Sweden

If you’re planning your vacation in the southwest or in the north part of Sweden, you can instead of the Öresund Bridge drive further north to Helsingör and from there use the popular ferry between Helsingör - Helsingborg. The ferry leaves every 15 minutes, the ferry crossing of approx. 5 km only takes approx. 20 minutes. You don't have to book tickets for this ferry in advance, just roll up and line up. Since this ferry is operated by Scandlines as well as the ferry crossings between Puttgarden to Rødby and Rostock to Gedser, you can buy a combined ticket. This transport corridor is also known as the Vogelfluglinie in the German language.
