The Dala horse is Dalarna's symbol and has become world famous, you can see Dala horses on windowsills and shelves, not only in Sweden but over the whole world. The Dala horse often appears in foreign media associated with Sweden.
These horses are carved and painted by hand, usually red with flowers but also in other colors. The Dala horses are manufactured in Nusnäs, tourists are welcome here, and a visit there is a must when you rent a cabin in Dalarna. Lake Siljan is very popular among both the locals and the tourists who rent cabins from us. By the lake you will have a fantastic scenery, and many attractive and interesting places to visit such as Dalhalla Tomteland, Nusnäs and Leksand summerland.
Leksand summerland offers a wet adventure, here you will find a water park with large pools and many water slides. There are also several different amusement park rides at Leksand summerland, including a Ferris wheel and a roller coaster.
Near the small town of Mora you’ll find Santa's Land, here you can visit Santa in his cottage. The theater performance will take you on an adventure where you get to meet Santa, the Elves, the Trolls, the Witch and Santa's reindeer.
Borlänge is the trading town number one in Dalarna. Borlänge is also close to the wild forest for those seeking either tranquility or physical challenges. From central Borlänge there are e.g. Romme Alpin, the adventure mine Tuna Hästberg and fantastic nature trails on Lake Runn. Also the adventure pool Aqua Nova.
About 10 km East of Borlänge is Torsång, which is sometimes called the Venice of Dalarna. The café by the river is a very popular gathering place. In Torsång there is also a medieval church, motor museum and a homestead that you can visit.
Falun has a nice town center with malls and small shops along shopping streets. Here you will also find cultural activities of many kinds such as the Dalateatern, symphony orchestra, and county museum.
Fall is more or less here, the days are getting shorter and the evenings are starting to get a little chilly, but with that also comes the fall markets.
