Here are fish species such as salmon, pike, pikeperch, grayling, trout, rainbow trout and perch. The river Ljusnan flows through the entire province. Ljusnan is the 9th longest watercourse in Sweden.

The Troll forest is a living fairytale forest in Mellanfjärden in Hälsingland, a fantastic theater adventure for the whole family. Here you experience the saga at your own pace, on your own. Winding paths take you to hospitable elves, dancing elves, a dormant dragon and straight into the trolls' dungeon.
Visit Järvsö Zoo and nature with a 3 km long wooden sidewalk that visitors use while they walk through the park, here you can experience the fantastic nature in Hälsingland. Here you’ll experience animals of Sweden that are shown in a natural environments. There are nice picnic areas in the park so prepare your favorite food in the cabin and bring to the park. The park is open all year around.
Riding the trolley is a fun experience on your holiday. Riding on the “Dellenbanan” you will pass along sparkling lakes, past idyllic cottages and farms, through dark tunnels and over breathtaking bridges. This is a real family activity where everyone can participate. Dellenbanan has 54 kilometers of railway between Hybo and the city of Hudiksvall. You will start at the Delsbo station, which is located in the middle of the track and then cycle either west or east.
Here you’ll experience fantastic downhill skiing and cross-country skiing for the whole family. Make a day trip to Hasselabacken or Järvsöbacken - two reasonably large facilities that are also perfect for smaller children. There are lots of nice cross-country ski trails in Hälsingland. During your stay you can also go horseback riding on Icelandic horses, ride on horse-drawn sleighs, try snowmobile trails and ice fishing.
The region is also known for fine magnificent old mansions and farms and wooden cabins. You can explore the region on your own or take a guided tour of some of the more than 200-year-old farms.
During the summer, a number of festivals and music events are organized in Hälsingland, including the world-famous dance competition Hälsingehambon. In connection with the competition “Hälsingehambon”, many other folk music concerts and other dances were also arranged.
Hudiksvall, which is usually called "Glada Hudik", is Hälsingland's largest city. The town is located on the coast of Hälsingland with a small archipelago and idyllic cabins.
Bollnäs, is located a bit inland by Lake Varpen. Here you will find Orbaden which is usually called "Hälsinglands Riviera" an absolutely wonderful lake bath with an approx. 1 km long sandy beach.
Söderhamn is a cozy little community by the ocean with an archipelago of about 500 islands and cobs. Here are wonderful swimming and fishing spots. In Söderhamn there are many old Hälsinge farms that are worth a visit, here you will also find the genuine old Fishing village with idyllic houses and cabins.
Fall is more or less here, the days are getting shorter and the evenings are starting to get a little chilly, but with that also comes the fall markets. The fall markets are a fun tradition in Sweden and something that a lot of people enjoy and like to visit, make sure you visit a fall market near your rented vacation home while visiting Sweden.
