About fishing
In the lakes there is no free fishing. Ocean fishing, on the other hand, is free with hand gear. Below the Norrtäljeån outlet in Norrtäljeviken (33 km) you can fish for perch, pike and bream. At Borgmästarholmen, pike, pikeperch and perch apply. You can also fish in Kvisthamraviken in Norrtälje. Around Barnens Ö on Väddö there is also good fishing water (pike and perch). You can fish from Älmsta fishing and boat piers (3 km) and from Trästa fishing pier (5 km). There are boat docks along Ortalaviken where you can fish.
We had a wonderful stay here. The cabin and location are nice and quiet. There is a lake close by and although the main town is a 40 minute walk, there is a bus stop close to the accommodation. Urban is a fantastic host. He made sure we had everything we needed, and he also makes his own bread and jams. During our stay, we rented bikes and cycled through the woods to the sea. We also took the boat to Åland island, an island between Sweden and Finland. We also went to a great cafe in Almster called Väddövillans cafe. We also spotted Thai takeaway and a Greek restaurant in the town.
This is a good place to spend your holidays!

We had a thoroughly enjoyable week-long stay at this cabin. The host, Mr. Skoglund, gave us a useful orientation to the cabins and was always available for questions and any help. He even had us do our laundry in his place. The bathroom, shower and kitchen being in a separate cabin from the bedrooms did not present much of an inconvenience. The cabins are just a 5-minute drive from a large grocery store and several restaurants, but the setting itself is very private. It's also just a 10-minute drive to a lake beach and just a couple more minutes to the ocean beach. We unfortunately were not able to bring our dog, but he would have loved it - the grounds are very large. The picture shows the badminton net and part of the grounds.

Very nice experience. Nice treatment.
The great guy "Ubbe" is well versed in the area and culture, so if you want to go to flea markets or find swimming spots, he gives good guidance.
We thank you for two wonderful weeks in calm and soothing surroundings. Will be back.

No swimming beach nearby. Rural idyll suitable for summer. A little running between the houses when you sleep in one place and eat and shower in the other house.
