Our cottage is just 50 meters from the sandy beach, and is located in a private and wind-protected yard with woodland, flowerbeds and a large lawn.
There is a lake view from the large cabin and from the sauna in the guesthouse/Attefallshuset you can see the forest area.
There is no other house opposite our yard but a meadow and a soccer field. Even though it is a cottage area, it is peaceful and quiet. You usually have the beach to yourself.
At the cabin, there are two decks with outdoor furniture, deckchairs and a sunbed, gas grill and hammock. It is ok to borrow the outdoor games such as boule, squash and badminton. A SUP board is also included.
There are picnic tables at the sandy beach, which has light, fine-grained sand and in the water, which is very shallow, there is a sandy bottom. There is a dock and a raft to use in the summer. Lake Vättern is Sweden's clearest lake with an enormous visibility depth of 17 meters for Swedish lakes and 31 species of fish are found here. No fishing license required.
In the main house there are two bedrooms with a double bed and two single beds, kitchen, bathroom and shower. The kitchen was newly renovated in 2024 and has full equipment including a dishwasher. Heat from a small, cozy wood-burning stove, modern air source heating pump and, if necessary, radiators.
There is an Attefall house used as a guest cottage. It features a fantastic four-poster bed and a wood-fired sauna.
You can rent the sleeping spaces in the guest cottage for an additional fee.
The wood-fired sauna is included when you rent the main house.
The last kilometer to the cabin is a gravel road and above it, the forest with hiking trails and a nice view from the sand dunes. 10 minutes drive by the car there is a nature reserve with hiking up a mountain where there is a fantastic view of Lake Vättern.
It is only a 10-minute drive to a larger grocery store or a restaurant.
Linköping with Old Linköping and the flight museum is 40 minutes from the cabin and Kolmården animal park is about 1.5 hours drive.
