Småland 2595 - Charming Småland idyll with a nice location for day trips

Here you live in a beautiful and comfortable vacation home which was built in 1924 as a typical Småland family house. Now it is modern, but carefully preserved in style, most recently renovated in December 2022. We want others than ourselves have the opportunity to relax and enjoy the genuine Swedish nature all year round and at the same time have a comfortable living.

There are 3 nice bedrooms, 2 of which are combined with an office and for socializing. On the ground floor there is a large bedroom with a tiled wood burning stove, as well as a bathroom with a walk-in shower, a toilet and sink. Furthermore, a small living room with a fireplace and TV. Free WIFI.
Next to it is a dining room / living room with a dining table with extra seats for up to 12 people. In the dining room / living room there is also a fantastic wood burning stove.

Next to the dining room / living room there is a spacious kitchen with a child safety stove with a hob and two ovens. Also household appliances such as coffee maker, coffee machine, toaster, microwave oven, kettle, egg cooker, electric whisk, juicer. The kitchen is also equipped with the crockery needed and for preparing meals.

There are 2 entrances to the house, one facing the street and one on the sun deck which is also the main entrance adjacent to the laundry / cleaning cabinet and the kitchen. The laundry room is new for June 2020 with a washing machine, dryer and ironing and drying facilities.
A beautiful staircase leads up to a hallway with 2 doors to the living room / bedroom which is carefully decorated for well-being and a good night's' sleep. The larger bedroom also has a tiled stove and  seating. The smaller bedroom was renovated in February 2021. Extra beds, baby crib, vacuum cleaner are in a storage room in the hallway.

The yard of about 1400 sqm, the lawn is not fenced in and faces a less busy road. There is plenty of seating available both on the deck by the house and on the lawn. Sun deck on the property with a dining area, outdoor kitchen/refrigerator, barbecue facilities, lounge furniture, and infrared heating. 
In the shed there are games for you, for outdoor play, barbeque grill, sun loungers, infrared heaters and firewood. There are parking spaces for 4 cars.

We avoid big parties and similar events. Minimum rental is 3 nights.

Nature is close by here, but you also have civilization with lots of day trip destinations within easy reach. The village in which the house is located is an old typical Småland village with three villages next to each other which already in the 16th century were inhabited by simple working people who lived in and close to nature. The author Wilhelm Moberg is from the area and has written the book The Emigrants and got ideas for the book from here. It is a landscape mixed with very old natural environments, older Småland houses, lakes, small roads and hiking trails.

From the year 2024, there is a newly opened unmanned grocery store in Örsjö, 1 km from the house.

There are many different walking areas to walk and enjoy, with signs for historical information and even with overnight accommodation. The start of the hiking trail is about 300m from our house. Within walking / bicycling distance are the lakes Örsjön, Göl and Örsjösjön. They have nice swimming areas and grills with wood and seating, and around the lakes are nice nature trails with varied nature, for hiking, jogging and if you want to spend the night in a wind shelter. Both Örsjö pond and  Lake Örsjösjön offer good fishing opportunities. There is a rowing boat with motor and other accessories for rent during the rental period. The boat is located at Örsjösjön's swimming area.
The local area attracts bicycling trips on the many small roads. In the largest village Norra Örsjö is the unusual hexagonal church, well worth a visit.
Nearby is also Glasrikets moose park (7 km) where you can go on moose safaris in a carriage or with your own car.
The villages Örsjö, Södra Örsjö are located between Emmaboda (15 km) and Nybro (15 km) which have various shops, restaurants and other services such as, Pharmacy, library, bowling, go-kart and indoor public pool.

Just 14 km from the house, towards Nybro, is Svartbäcksmåla recreation area and nature reserve. Here you will find year-round activities with walk-friendly hiking trails, mountain bike trails, ski trails, downhill skiing, outdoor gym and barbeque areas. Since the house is located in the middle of Glasriket, it is only a stone's throw to the nearest glass artist. For those who want to take a day trip, there are many other sights / glassworks, which you can visit through a tour of just a few miles. If you take a trip to Kosta (33 km) you can visit famous Kosta glassworks with associated outlet stores and also Kosta safari park.
Also take the opportunity to visit the historic Kalmar (45 km) with its fine city center, its unique Renaissance castle and take the bridge over to the scenic island of Öland (50 km) with its medieval castles and art and cultural variety. Both Kalmar and Öland also offer shopping of various things, restaurants, cafes and have many excellent swimming spots / sandy beaches along the coasts.
Here you also live at a reasonable distance for day trips to, for example, Astrid Lindgren's world and her childhood home Näs in beautiful Vimmerby (150 km).

Fishing is available in many lakes in the area. All require fishing licenses purchased at various locations near the lakes. Every lake has good fishing.
