The adventure begins already in the small village of Barum on the mainland, where you board Skåne’s only road ferry to get to Ivö. The ferry crossing takes approx. 6 minutes, is free of charge and runs around the clock. Upon arrival on the island, Ivö Camping is located directly next to the ferry terminal. Here you will find various activities and services such as a kiosk/grill, shop, restaurant/pub, entertainment, bathing areas, jetties, playground, boules courts, mini golf, boat and bicycle rental and more.
Our cabin, including a privately owned 5000 m² plot, is located just on the other side of the boundary to the campsite, approx. 100 m from the lake. From the plot, you can pass through our own secret portal through the campsite, down to the lakeshore and on to a child-friendly sandy beach with jetties, as well as the rest of the activities at the campsite.
The cabin itself is painted red with white corners. Outside the entrance there is a large covered terrace with a long table, perfect for gathering for the day’s meals and for spending pleasant evenings together. Inside the cabin there is one bedroom with a sofa bed for two people. There is also a walk-through room with a smart wall bed containing a fold-down bed for two people. If additional sleeping space is needed, there are 2 mattresses available, preferably to be placed on the floor in the living room. In addition, there is a newly renovated kitchen, a living/common room with an open fireplace, and a toilet with a large shower. The cabin itself is small and charming, approx. 55 m². As an addition to the cabin rental, it is also possible to rent our wonderful glamping tent, which is furnished with some seating furniture for socialising. There are also some inflatable mattresses available in case you would like to stay overnight. This is an absolute favourite activity among children – believe us!
On the 5000 m² plot there is also space to rent for one or a couple of motorhomes/caravans, for example if you wish to holiday together with friends or relatives. However, water and electricity are not available for these pitches.
Bed linen, small and large bathroom towels, and final cleaning are not included but can be provided for an additional fee. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything normally found in a kitchen. However, there is no dishwasher. Internet/WiFi is available.
Due to today’s unstable energy costs, electricity consumption will be charged separately. It is mainly the heating of water and the use of the stove/oven that affect this consumption. It is therefore up to each guest how much they wish to save or use. The cost is calculated based on the actual consumption per kWh during the stay.
Ivö is often called a fairytale island, with beautiful beech forests, rich wildlife and an interesting history. One of the sights is Ivö Klack, a fossil-rich hill in the northern part of the island, with an incredible age of 1.3 billion years. With a bit of luck, you can find fossils here that remind us of a time very long ago, such as dinosaur skeletons and shark teeth. Other exciting and interesting places to visit and sights on the island include Biskopskällaren, the kaolin quarry and the cave-like formations at Ugnsmunnarna. On the mainland, Bäckaskog Castle and the Kjugekull nature reserve are nearby. Kristianstad, Bromölla and Sölvesborg can be reached by car in approx. 20 minutes and offer, among other things, shopping, museums, cosy cafés, restaurants and more.
