Töreboda:
The beautifully situated croft is located right on the outskirts of Töreboda municipality. In addition to the western main line, the beautiful Göta canal runs through Töreboda city center and a must in Töreboda is to take a ride across the canal with the small ferry "Lina"!
From Töreboda you can also take a tour boat along the canal or why not play mini golf or visit Hajstorp's lock area. Töreboda camping offers swimming in outdoor pools, but you will also find nice municipal swimming pools in Halna and Beateberg respectively.
Mariestad:
Mariestad offers a small town feel at its best. If you want swimming and nature, then it is to Mariestad you should go. Just north of the city is Torsö. Drive all the way straight across Torsö and you will find the bicycle and walking ferry over to wonderfully beautiful Brommö! Here you should spend at least one full day - bring coffee and light lunch and look for your very own swimming bay on the small island!
Skövde:
The mountain Billingen offers several beautiful hiking or exercise tracks or why not bring a bike for a ride in the mountain bike track or on the pump bike track? At Billingen you will also find Skogsmulleriket along the walking trail around Åsbotorpsjön. There you can peek at Skogsmulle and his friends and learn more about animals and nature. There is also an app to download to your mobile to get more out of the visit.
In Skövde you swim in Simsjön or Boulongerskogen.
For less sunny days, you will find an adventure pool and relaxation area in Arena Skövde.
Tibro:
In the furniture town of Tibro, you can take the whole family on a round of frisbee golf, have coffee at the retro café Bagare Brage or take a walk in the beautiful Rankås. Also take the opportunity to visit the small cozy zoo Mini-zoo where most of the animals can be petted! If you feel for a swim, it is not far to Örlen's swimming area.
Götene:
Kinnekulle offers so much that it is difficult to list everything in a few lines. Hjulets coffee house is a must! Here you can buy coffee or something tasty to then continue the journey up to the high hill. On a nice day, you can see for miles after walking the many steps up to the 19 meter high lookout tower. Recommended! Also take the opportunity to see if you can decipher which kings and queens have visited the high hill - can you find the royal stones? In Blomberg you can go for a swim.
Skara:
In Skara, the cathedral with its more than a thousand years on its neck should be a clear tourist destination. There is also a veterinary history museum in Skara and if you like to do crafts, you must not miss the handicraft shop's well-stocked shop! Just outside of Skara, towards Skövde, the water park Skara Summerland is located. Treat yourself to a wonderful day with lots of play, swimming and fun!
Lidköping:
Limtorget, Rådhuset and Stadsparken - in Lidköping you can take long walks and just feel good. When you're done with the city life, take the car and continue out on Kållandsö. After a lunch in Spiken's fishing village, we recommend a visit to the wonderfully beautiful Läckö castle! You can swim either at Läckö Castle or at Framnäsbadet or Villabadet. Karlsborg: Not a visit to Karlsborg without visiting the fortress and having an ice cream in the fortress square. Karlsborg was once Sweden's reserve capital and it's easy to thrive in Karlsborg! From Karlsborg it is not far to Tiveden where you can walk in magical nature. The best bath is without a doubt Djäknesundet just north of Karlsborg, but it is also possible to swim centrally at Karlsborg camping.
Lake Viken, about 14 km away, with fishing. Fishing license required.
