Charming winter cabin with a view of the lake and surrounded by mountains near Gäddede in Jämtland province. Here you can just relax and enjoy the silence, or why not try hunting and fishing. There are lots of activities here summer and winter. There are also drying cabinets and shoe dryers where you hang your outerwear. From the living room you have a beautiful view of the lake, there is another dining area. Pets are allowed but not in sofas and beds. Between the cabin and the lake (about 15 m down to the lake) there is a wood-fired sauna. There is no electricity or shower in it. But a small room, where you can leave your clothes, towel etc. The building is about 10 sqm. To the lake it is only 25 meters, here it is excellent to both swim and fish, when fishing you need a fishing license. There are also a rowing boat and a canoe that you can use when you fish or if you prefer to row out to Holmen, and grill at the prepared barbeque area that is there. You can bring firewood from the cabin. Canoes are available for rent in the community approx. 12 km from the cabin There are many, namely over 100 ponds, lakes and streams in the area that you can choose to buy a fishing license for. If you follow the brook (which is about 75 meters from the cabin), you can fish brook trout, among other things. if you continue walking, you will come further to a lake, where there is also plenty of fish. At the end of October, and at the beginning of November you can also catch whitefish with a net there. There the whitefish come to play. Then you can prepare your catch of fish and meat in the smoker, at the cabin next to the sauna. In the winter you can also try ice fishing, fishing licenses can be purchased. You can borrow kick sleds that are by the cabin and go down to the lake which is about 25 meters from the cabin and maybe pick up your dinner for the day. From 16/9 to 31/10 there is a fishing ban by the lake next to the cabin.
Tourists attractions
In the area there are many other activities to experience such as a homestead, museum, canoe trails, caves and hiking trails. You may have a great interest in hunting and prefer to hunt in Europe's last wilderness. There are opportunities to hunt small game nearby. The owner can help with more information about this. Slalom with family-friendly slopes is about 5,5 km from the cabin also nice trails for cross-country skiing are nearby. If you have a snowmobile with you or want to rent it, there are more than 100 km of groomed snowmobile trails to choose from. Distance to Östersund 220 km and to the nearest shop 12 km in Gäddede.
About fishing
Frostviken is a fish-rich area. At 140 km you can buy a fishing license that covers 124 fishing waters.

House very clean on arrival. Very good and friendly welcome. Simple and good directions. Very nice property with direct access to the lake with its own dock. The sauna was perfect. The house is equipped with everything you could wish for. Kitchen a bit small for cooking, but very well equipped. We felt very comfortable and can recommend the house at any time. Many thanks also to Doris, Magnus and Janne. They were very friendly and helpful.
