Welcome to beautiful Dalarna! Our charming cottage is located in the village of Storslätten, about 10 km from Grangärde in southern Dalarna. While simple, it boasts a fantastic location!
The cottage is about 430 square feet (40 m2) and accommodates 2 to 4 people. It is set on a lovely property with a small pond, a babbling brook, and partial views of Lake Rämen, which is approximately 300 feet away (90 m ). It's close to areas for swimming, fishing, and picking berries and mushrooms. Rowboats are available for use, and fishing permits can be purchased at the village. There are also several great hiking trails and attractions nearby.
The nearest neighbor is 165 feet away ( 50 m ), and they have chickens—the rooster tends to wake up early!
The cottage has electricity but no running water or sewage system. Fresh drinking water is provided in jugs in the kitchen upon your arrival, and you can refill them at the landlord's house, located 660 feet ( 200 m ) away. Water can be heated on the stove, and dishes can be washed in a tub, which should be emptied on the property. An outdoor toilet is located 16 feet ( 5 m ) from the cottage.
The small bedroom features a bunk bed for 2 people and a wardrobe. The living room has a sofa bed for 2 people, a small seating area with 2 armchairs and a coffee table, and a stove to keep you warm on cooler evenings. A basket of firewood is provided upon arrival, and additional wood can be purchased for SEK 50 per basket.
The kitchen includes an electric stove (with 2 burners), an oven, a fridge with a freezer compartment, a microwave oven, a kettle, glasses, plates, cutlery, and all the necessary cooking and dining equipment. The dining area has a table with 4 chairs.
Outside, there's a covered terrace with seating, as well as additional seating areas by the pond, where you can also enjoy grilling (a charcoal grill is provided). Note: There is no fence around the pond or stream!
The lake is about 300 feet ( 90 m ) away and has a small sandy beach with a dock. Fishing in the lake is excellent, and the fishing license also grants access to several other small lakes in the area.
The landlord speaks Swedish, English, and German.
50 kWh of electricity is included, with any additional consumption charged at SEK 2 per kWh.
